Millionaires Tax | SB 6346 · 2026
Tarra fought through nearly 25 hours of debate to help pass the Millionaires Tax. The measure affects only the highest earners while creating funding for programs that benefit working families, including free school meals and childcare.

 

Working Families Tax Credit | 2026
Supported an expansion of the Working Families Tax Credit reaching 460,000 more Washingtonians, putting money directly back into the hands of low- and middle-income families.

 

Small Business Relief | 2026
Supported B&O tax relief that means 70% of Washington businesses will pay zero B&O tax.

 

Non-Compete Agreements | ESHB 1155 · 2026
Supported legislation banning non-compete agreements, giving workers greater freedom to pursue better opportunities in their fields.

 

Affordable Housing & Reentry | 2SHB 1818 · 2022
Authored legislation supporting reentry and rehabilitation, recognizing stable housing as a foundation for successful reentry.

Supported a pathway to homeownership for families historically shut out by redlining and discriminatory lending.

Tarra secured state funding for projects across Kitsap County.
Her work helped bring affordable housing, shelter, medical respite, and healthcare resources to communities throughout the district, including $1 million for Saint Vincent de Paul Housing & Shelter and $1.5 million for Peninsula Community Health Services.

ICE Out Act | HB 2641 · 2026
Introduced legislation to prevent Washington law enforcement agencies from hiring sworn ICE officers. The bill did not pass, but Tarra continues to advocate for immigrant communities.

Port Gamble Shoreline Restoration | 2023–25
Secured $2.4 million for one of the most significant ecological restoration projects on Puget Sound.

Helped secure investments in North Kitsap Divide Block Community Forest, Port Gamble Forest Park, Illahee Preserve, Carpenter Creek Estuary, and other local conservation projects.
