Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe
The Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe has been part of the land, waters, and communities of the Kitsap Peninsula since time immemorial. The S’Klallam people are known historically as the Nux Sklai Yem, or “Strong People”, are descendants of Salish peoples who have lived throughout the Puget Sound region for thousands of years. Today, the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe remains a sovereign nation and a vital part of the 23rd Legislative District.
